Educational Qualification
The basic requirement for admission is the successful completion of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Science stream), with Biology included in the curriculum, from an institution acknowledged by the pertinent authorities.
This stipulation adheres to regulation 8 established in “The Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service Rule, 2002,” which has been subsequently revised and is currently in force following the amendments made by “The Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service (Amendment) Rule, 2017,” as indicated in the official notification number VFV.155/2013/62 dated the 6th of July, 2017.

Age Limit
An individual’s minimum age must be 18 years, and their maximum age must not be more than 30 years. However, there are provisions for age relaxation that apply to candidates from reserved categories according to prevailing regulations.
Age Relaxation Details:
The maximum age threshold can be extended as follows:
- Applicant belonging to OBC and MOBC category is eligible for relaxation period of 3 years.
- An relaxation of 5 years is given for those from the SC, ST(P), and ST(H) categories.
